Confessions of an Unrealistic Crush

I'm in for it. His name is (for the sake of hiding his identity) Jesse Sibley. A handsome football player that played college football. Technically Jesse is a wide receiver in case any sports fan wanted to know what position he played. Tall and athletic which is one of many ways you can describe him. I guess importantly he's a good Christian man. The tall, athletic and handsome are what most woman look for in a man. I prefer men with a sense of humor and intelligence (but not to the point where he becomes some pretentious jerk).

But when you see Sibley, all those traits seem to go out the window and you just see what's on the surface. More likely athletes, as same as famous people in general, love their significant others to be beautiful just like them.

So why in God's earth I would fall in love with Jesse Sibley. I'm not at all athletic. His whole family is athletic outdoors type of people. Sibley would never touch me with a ten foot pole.

I Love It!

The last couple of nights I was hanging out with my friend/co-worker and watch the NFL Draft. I guess it was one of the events where it holds me over until the football season starts. Was sad that Colt McCoy didn't go in the first round? But why on earth did Tim Tebow went ahead of him...I will never know. If I were these football players waiting to be drafted, I rather sleep through it and wake up in the next morning so someone would say, "Good morning, you are playing for...."

Well I was mostly concern about Jordan Shipley. I honestly wanted him to go to the Titans or Cowboys. When the those teams grabbed WR, then I wondered. It was a shock and is still a shock that he went to the Cincinnati Bengals. I don't know if I can be a fan but it'll take time. Maybe I should have been a bengal for Eeyore's Birthday Party in homage to Jordan going to Cincinnati. I was too busy though.

This morning I volunteered for the Texas Roundup. I talked to a freshman from Westlake High. So I mentioned about Drew Brees went there. He said the day after the school declared it a holiday and everyone had to wear some Saints t-shirts and if they didn't they were sent to the Principal's office where they were given t-shirts to wear for the day. I love it!

Oh dear...technology...

Can't live with it, can't live without it. I finally ordered DSL through AT&T that's going to come next Wednesday which I should have ordered on Monday. For some strange reason I thought today was Friday.

I know what gave me that idea. I'm at the Bouldin Creek where it is crowded and busy. It almost feels like it is a Friday. The person behind the counter was telling me that it is always busy on a Wednesday. I guess people are trying to make it though the week. What a better way than to go out and pretend it is Friday. Could you imagine everyday is Friday?

Today at work, half of my co-workers had viruses on their computers. Even though I had to do my usual job, I couldn't go online. Well I was productive with my work but I felt like I was cut off from the world.

Next three nights is the NFL Draft...I'm busy until then.

Sun's out, oh wait never mind...

Yesterday it rained and poured. Springtime in Austin is never lasts a long time. When it gets hot I miss the weather back in my hometown. My hometown is in Downey, CA. I never say that I'm from Los Angeles because technically I never lived in LA. I lived in Los Angeles County. It's strange that I never really fit in when I always went to work in Los Angeles/Hollywood.

Many ways I was glad to leave my job and retreat back home to Downey and even hang around in south of Downey, aka Orange County. It was a brief time because I ended up moving to Austin.

Lifeworks and Volunteer Appreciation Party

A couple of hours ago I came back from the Lifeworks Tutor Appreciation Party. In one of my previous posts I eluded to teaching ESL and my experience in first starting out. I didn't realize I started November 3, 2009. I thought it was in October or even earlier. The food was good. It was catered by Mandola's Italian Market. There was a wonderful speech by the Executive Director of Lifeworks who started off as a tutor just like everyone in the room and how she helped form Lifeworks.

Also there are plans to have a new Lifeworks location near the Austin Community College (Riverside) campus area...

It's a official...I'm going to be rowing

Yep I did it! Took some money out of my savings and signed up for rowing at the Austin Rowing Club. See you guys in May. I'll be out there rowing in Town Lake. Going to be awesome! I'm excited. It's one of the few exercises besides yoga that I care to do.

MMMM....TWINKIES

Haven't had these in awhile but it brings back memories as a kid. Courtesy of Mental Floss, one of my favorite sites to visit.

Row...Row...Row your boat

Believe it or not, I always was fascinated with rowing. I remember going to the gym and I would seek out the erg (rowing machines) before I go on any machine. Actually it was the only machine I care to go on. It's also one of the few exercises I want to do. No way I can do aerobics or kickboxing. But I'm seriously considering joining the Austin Rowing Club.

Today was free rowing day and I had a great experience at the Austin Rowing Club. They were nice and helpful. I somewhat freaked out when we left the port. I was worried about going into the water. But I relaxed and tried my best to row. It is somewhat difficult because you have to get into the rhythm and it's all about technique. But it's really fun.

I highly recommend them if you want to learn rowing here in Austin.

Poor Owl - Afraid to Fly

But the owl is really beautiful as all owls are.

I want to try Master Cleanse but...

It sounds like a good idea, especially after Thanksgiving and Christmas when I eat things that I normal don't eat. I visited the doctor recently and she said that it was okay to do the master cleanse. I would be able to lose more weight. I love food though and I'm worried not being able to survive without food. True I would save money.

ESL Tutor

I never would have thought that I would be an ESL tutor. If you asked me a year ago, I wouldn't have considered it. So you might ask if I have credentials to be teacher of some sort. Actually I don't. I just went to a couple weekends (during football season. how do I know? I missed a couple of UT football games) of training sessions at LifeWorks and I was basically thrown in.

At first I thought I didn't know what I was doing. Finally Lifeworks ordered some books and it was easier to teach. I feel very confident in what I'm doing.

Now if I can bring some more confidence in other things in my life.

Be Back Shortly

I have to teach an ESL class at Lifeworks. Very fun it is!!! I'll add more since I have deleted my official website due to financial reason! GGGRRR!
